Fishing & Lake Report 21/01/2015
Current discharge: 8570 ML per day.
Water level current: 56.6 %
Current inflow: 2048 ML per day.
Water level 14/01/2015: 57.7 %
Water visibility: up to 2 metres
Rain past 7 days : 0.0 mm
Forecast Weather: Showers increasing Friday, Rain on Saturday top of 32 deg C for the weekend
New Moon = January 21st Full Moon = February 4th Water Temperature: 23 deg

Murray Cod: Remain quiet with only the occasional small cod being caught mainly on trolled lures or spinner baits.

Yellow Belly: Fishing has improved over the past week. The fish are holding around or above 6 metres deep on trees and around structure. Casting lures and or dropping soft plastics in amongst the timber will also produce fish. The yellows are hitting hard when they do strike. Good reports from Scubby back to the main basin. Best bait shrimp & small yabbies.

Redfin: Plenty being caught. I have found schools in 3 areas at scrubby as well as in the main basin around Carroll’s creek and The Slaughter Yards. I prefer to chase them with small pre weighted minnows about 50 mm or small blades. Hook and worms will also do the job but you may also end up with a few carp.

Carp: Plenty being caught on worms, corn & bread. Not hearing as many reports of them taking lures.
Park News: We have had 2 fish releases over the last 2 weeks. 14000 Cod & 15000 Rainbow trout.
Kerry O’Keefe will be singing at the park from 8pm this Sunday 25th January. Free concert Bring a chair and esky. Venue: The grassed camp kitchen area near the bridge (Lawlers)
