Fishing & Lake Report 04/02/2015
Current discharge: 9514 ML per day.
Water level current: 49.7 %
Current inflow: 1704 ML per day.
Water level 28/01/2015: 54 %
Water visibility: up to 1 metres
Rain past 7 days : 3.6 mm
Forecast Weather: Sunny for the weekend. Temps between 13 & 34 deg C. Light winds
Full Moon = February 4th New Moon = Feb 19 Water Temperature: 23 deg

Murray Cod: After a few weeks with no real big cod being caught, but Tim from Wagga Wagga has captured another beauty measuring in at 124cm. Tim caught the fish while trolling a big AC invader well after dark on the weekend. Tim and his mates managed 4 cod with the others measuring 50,60 & 62 cm. His big AC lure came off worse with the bib being broken by the massive Murray Cod. The full moon is tonight (4th) the barometer and temps are rising for the weekend. The only negative is the dropping water levels. Tim’s big fish is number 22 over 1 metre since the 1st of December/

Yellow Belly: Not much has changed with the submerged trees being the best option and there is more trees showing each day as the water levels drop. There is plenty of shrimp being caught by the bait fishermen and live shrimp remain one of the best baits to use. Tim and his mates managed 13 Yellows on soft plastics and trolling hard body lures with most success coming in the hour before dark. I have not heard to much from the top end of the dam other than the visibility is way down. Trolling is a good option with the fish holding only 15 to 20 feet down above the dirty water layer. Main basin and Bidgee arm are the best bet.
Redfin: No reports of any big numbers being caught. I would expect with the warmer flatter conditions this weekend that they may fire up once again.
Carp: Plenty being caught on worms, corn & bread.
Park News: Rebecca will be joining Carolyn & Wendy in the office from this week. Lynne has also now joined the team on our cabin cleaning crew. Please make them Welcome.
