Murray Cod: It has been another quiet week for the fisherman. Not a lot of activity during the day although we have had some glorious, sunny, cool winter days this past week. The few reports this week have all come from the keen fishos chasing the night time bite. We had a visit from Andrew during the week. He arrived late one evening on his way from Adelaide to Sydney and decided a night fish, on a dam he had never been to, or seen in the daylight, seemed like a good idea. It was raining that night also. Andrew ventured out in his tinny about 1 am and fished the remainder of the night. He finished with one small cod landed while trolling and one good hit that he missed. He said he was very very cold & wet. Now that is keen. Scott from Gundagai faired a little better and warmer. Scott river camped on the main basin with a swag and a rod in rod holder beside a fire. Fishing with big Yabbies, Scott managed two good fish measuring 84cm & 91cm.

Yellow Belly: Still quite. The top end of the Bidgee River, Hume Park, is very dirty with a few floaters from last week’s rain. The water clears as you travel down towards the junction but the fishing remained very quiet on bait & lure. Shore based fishing after dark with worms or small yabbies may be the best option.

Redfin: There were a couple of good sized redfin caught near Cathedral Rock this week. Bait fishing with worms, during the day.
Carp: Even the carp have been very quite. I had some fisherman here for a few days just fishing from the park foreshore during the day. They couldn’t lose a worm.

Park News: The Greg Whitehead Memorial Fishing Challenge will be held at the park from the 21st to 23 rd of August. All profits from the weekend are being donated to the Cure Brain Cancer Foundation. Email with your details if you are interested in taking part. $15000 in prizes. Full details are available on our Facebook page.
