Murray Cod: The fishing has quietened down over the past week. A few smaller cod have been picked up here and there but the bigger fish seem to have gone quiet. Again this could be the abundance of food about at the moment, such as schools of Redfin and Gudgeons.

Yellow Belly: Seem to have moved to deeper water. Shrimp remain the best option for bait fisherman, Try the trees or rock walls in deeper water. The yellows have been holding at around 6 to 7 metres over the past few weeks but I would go deeper. Shrimp are also a bit hard to find, Plastic grubs are also well worth a try. I witnessed 2 fish being caught on a cast pumpkin seed grub this week off the rocks. A few guys have been through with small yabbies and have done no good with these. Trolling for yellows has been very tough going. I picked up a couple of fish casting mask vibes but again it was slow going. There were 2 good sized fish on the catch sheet this week, a 50cm & 55 cm fish. Both caught on shrimp

Redfin: Are still about. The large school I have been fishing for the past few weeks, at the top end of the Main Basin, has either moved on or they have all been caught. Seems to be plenty getting caught around the trees with the redfin loving the shrimp. The plastic grubs also catch redfin around the trees.

Park News: The 2nd round of the Australian Yellow Belly Championships will be held at Burrinjuck on the 23rd & 24th April. Registration at http://www.aycfishingtournaments.com/.
