Forecast Weather: Fine and mostly sunny. Temps ranging from 9 to 25 deg C over the weekend. Winds light.
New Moon = April 7th Full Moon = April 22nd Water Temperature: 22-24 deg

Murray Cod: The fishing at the end of last week was better than early this week. Something changed over the weekend with the fishing getting much tougher all round. I spent 6 hrs on the Water on Monday afternoon, mainly chasing yellows, and did not turn a reel. Lure only. I did manage a 60 cm fish very early Tuesday morning that fell to a trolled Stucky Lure. The new moon is on the 7th which usually means a bit more activity during daylight hours. Maybe the fish are a bit confused with the ending of day light savings.

Yellow Belly: Once again we had great reports early in the week with heaps of fish at the fish bins on Friday & Saturday mornings before the fishing went much quieter from Sunday onwards. Ben managed 13 yellows over the weekend using small yabbies on the trees in the deep in around Wade Island. Ben also takes out the biggest of the week award with a 60cm thumper. There were several other good reports using shrimp. Lure guys have been quiet during the day, better fishing times have been late evening and early morning. Some good news, a few more shrimp are starting to appear in the shrimp traps. The weather this weekend is looking marvellous once again and the school holidays begin, great time for a fishing trip.

Redfin: There were plenty being caught from the park foreshore particularly in the late afternoon. Worms and shrimp were the best bait. There are plenty of schools still showing up on the sounder as I was having a troll this week, only a couple decided to have a go at a lure.

Park News: The Australian Yellow Belly Championships will be staged from the park on the Anzac long weekend. Entry & info from http://www.aycfishingtournaments.com/.
The 2nd Greg Whitehead memorial fishing challenge is on again this year. Based at our park, the comp will commence on Friday the 19th August. More info over the coming weeks.
