Forecast Weather: possible showers over the weekend with up to 5 mm predicted each day. Temps ranging from 13 to 27 deg C . Winds light.
New Moon = April 7th Full Moon = April 22nd Water Temperature: 20-22 deg

Murray Cod: No 1 metre fish this week, however quite a few average sized fish between 50 & 60 cm are being landed. Fisherman working the base of trees with bait or lure have a good chance of landing a nice fish. Jackalls and mask vibes accounted for a few fish on the catch sheet this week. The full moon is approaching on the 22nd which coincides with the long weekend. I expect a few of the regulars will be here chasing the big one all night long.

Yellow Belly: Some trophy size yellows are being caught at the moment, plenty over 50 cm and one at 61 cm. These are most likely the big females and it is sad to see their remains appearing at the cleaning tables. I was told by a reliable source that a yellow belly of 60 cm is older than a 1 metre Murray Cod. Doesn’t sound like good eating to me. We have had a few guys in pre fishing for the upcoming Yellow Belly Championships on the 23rd April. So no surprise there have been quite a few yellows landed this past week on plastic grubs such as gulp. Mostly Black. Some good reports also from the lure guys throwing Jackalls and mask vibes. The bait guys also going real well with plenty of guys bagging out daily on small yabbies and shrimp. Good reports from Little Scrubby and also the back side of Wade Island.

Redfin: We have had a stack of redfin appearing at the cleaning tables, so they are still out there. Once again Little Scrubby was mentioned as a hot spot.

Park News: The Australian Yellow Belly Championships will be staged from the park on the Anzac long weekend. Entry & info from http://www.aycfishingtournaments.com/.
The 2nd Greg Whitehead memorial fishing challenge is on again this year. Based at our park, the comp will commence on Friday the 19th August. More info over the coming weeks.
