Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri May 12, 2017 2:13 pm

Current discharge: 4002 ML per day.
Water level 10/05/17: 62.7%
Current inflow: 1020 ML per day.
Water level 03/05/17: 63.7 %
Water visibility: 2 metres
Forecast Weather: A chance of showers on Sunday. Day time temps reaching 19 deg C and dropping to 5 deg C overnight. Winds will be light. Barometer remaining high through to Tuesday.
Full Moon = 11th May New Moon = 26th May Water Temperature: 17- 18 deg C

Murray Cod: We had Rowan from Albury staying with us for the past week. Rowan has been here chasing the big one, fishing evenings through to midnight. Rowan chose to cast mainly spinner baits and Chatter baits, he estimated he spent about 50 hrs on the water over the week. He left this morning without a 1 metre fish but went close with one at 94 cm, he also caught 2 fish at 85 cm and another 6 fish under 60 cm. I came up empty handed from day time ventures this week. The new moon is on the 11th, the weather looks fine and 2 days either side of the full moon is supposed to be the best fishing.
Yellow Belly: Tough going is the general consensus. I have not landed a yellow for a few weeks now and not many others have either. The Gundagai Anglers were in over the weekend and reported only 3 fish between them. We have more of the stable high pressure system this week and a full moon so maybe an evening bait fish around the shallows may be the answer.

Redfin: Continue to be the staple catch. The reddies are in shallower water now, generally less than 3 metres, and are still taking lures and bait regularly.
Park News: Power outage from 9am on the 15th May for 3 hrs. There are several groups of contractors staying at the park over the next month so just a heads up to take care on the road as there could be a few big vehicles and increased mid- week traffic on the windy bit.

Upcoming Events: The 3rd Greg Whitehead Memorial fishing challenge Friday 18th August.
