Report 5/6/15

Post by subeditor » Fri Jun 05, 2015 2:25 pm

Starting out wide, snapper are really coming on the bite, with plenty of pan-sized models and the odd big bruider coming aboard around the Mud Hole.
Spaniards and yellowfin tuna are thick off the back on 9-mile and have been providing heaps of line-burning action to those making the trip out.
Trag jew and pearlies have been making for a good feed and most have been taken from the 36s.
In the river, small jew have been running rampant on the turns of the tide, especially at night around the bridges.
Plenty of bream have turned up in the lower reaches, particularly around structure.
For those who like flathead, Ukerebagh and Terranora have seen plenty of flatties being caught in the last week or so, mostly on plastics and small hardbodies.
Blackfish are everywhere, and heaps are being taken using traditional methods, but the odd one has been caught on lures.

The beaches have been a bit quiet, but a steady stream of tailor and beach run bream are still being reported.
