Outside, the action has been fast-paced, with good pearlies and snapper coming abord around the 50s.
A little bit closer in, the black marlin 36-40 fathom line are still hanging around.
Closer still, the back of 9-mile has seen plenty of great wahoo taken, and there's been good numbers of yellowfin tuna.
The Mudhole and Fido has seen a fantastic number of trag jew showing up in catches, which is great to see.
The Spanish and spoitties have been smashing lures and trolled baits around Kingscliff and doesn't show any signs of slowing up.

In the river, the fishing has been a bit touchy and toey, with so much fresh in the system, a lot of fish have shut down. Some fish, however, have reveled in this influx and have been smashing bait as it's washed down the river.
In the lower reaches, the bigeye trevally and mangrove jack have been caught in good numbers around Barney's Point and Boyds Bay bridges.
Muddies are a good option for the crabbers, with some great bucks turning up in the upper and middle reaches.
Above the weir, the bass are going great guns with the sudden rise in the water level, so a trip in the kayak up above Murwillumbah might be worth the effort.

Along the beach, quiet a few dart and small tailor have been taken along Back Beach and around Kingscliff, but other than that the action has bee fairly slow.
