Report 10/9/15

Post by Nicole Penfold » Mon Sep 14, 2015 3:51 pm

This weekend is threatening to be the best weekend we’ve seen all cold season, low seas with minimal winds and temps around the mid 20’s will create some stunning conditions to go fishing and the warm water temps will have the fish on the chew.

The snapper season is upon us and some good fish are being caught on our local reefs, Michael Bonnici fished in 30 metres using soft plastics landing some great fish bumping plastics down deep, this method is quickly becoming popular as its success rate is growing rapidly.

Kingfish reports are on the rise, some good fish are still coming in from the 12 mile reef and Long Reef is on the up as well, sounding out local areas and finding the bait schools will put you in the zone.

The harbour is improving every week now with all manner of species being landed, luderick, salmon, trevally, mulloway and tailor were all captured during the week amidst some great fishing sessions from the heads all the way to the upper reaches.

Narrabeen lake is proving a challenge at the moment as water temps are fluctuating, there seems to be more fish biting at the mouth of the lake than up the back, some good luderick are being caught near the caravan park on green weed and this is a very relaxed style of fishing the whole family can try.
