More kingfish, mahi mahi and marlin are on the chew this week with plenty being encountered offshore, and not to be left behind some good inshore and estuary bites have been happening as well.

Michael Palmer and his crew landed 3 from 5 marlin in 200 meters of water off Manly using small skirted lures and on the way back found a very hot bite of mahi under a floating log. The kingfish have been accessible a lot closer to shore with Long Reef being a popular spot to start looking for schooling bait that is holding kings beneath.

The Harbour is still a bit dirty from the recent heavy downpours but plenty of the bread and butter species are taking baits and lures. Rob Haslam fished in Middle Harbour with lures and had a good session using vibes and sinking stick baits. Tailor, trevally and a some massive whiting were coming to the party with Rob landing a 43cm fish, this is a ripper whiting for inside the harbour.

Schools of surface fish like tailor and salmon are in our estuaries now feeding on the small baitfish schools currently available, kingfish are also hounding out these shoals and surface poppers are an awesome lure for casting into these fish.
