It’s firing out here on the fishing front with some great reports coming in throughout the week, this weekend’s weather looks set to be awesome so opportunities are a plenty to wet a line at your favourite spot and catch some fish.

Pittwater is alive with fish at the moment with flathead, tailor, bream and kingfish all on the chew. Rob Haslam kayaked out of Bayview during the week landing a swag of these fish using plastic vibes and poppers, if you haven’t tried soft plastic vibes yet then it’s time to give them a go as they are proving very successful with many an angler at the moment. Plastic vibe lures are easy to use and often arouse the predatory instincts of many species with just a lift of the rod while working the bottom of the water column.

The peninsular beaches are also holding fish this week with whiting, bream, flathead and tailor being caught at Manly, Dee Why, Avalon & Palm Beach. King worms and pilchards are 2 of the more popular baits being used whilst in the lure department larger metals are working over the back on the tailor, a long cast and quick retrieve are all it takes to get this aggressive species to bite, be aware that this species has sharp teeth and can inflict a nasty bite so pliers are a good option for hook removal.
