With record temperatures for the month of May and exceptional water conditions, the fishing is just improving all the time.

For those fisho’s laying down a pilchard burley trail for snapper, it is amazing what you can catch. With lightly weighted bait sent down the trail, it’s only a matter of patience to hook Bonito, Mackerel and Kingfish.

Kings are still showing up in the harbour and on some of the rock platforms taking a variety of baits and lures.

Beach fishing is still producing solid Sand Whiting and Bream using light gear and some good king worms.

No good reports for jewfish yet but they can’t be far away.

Offshore fishing has slowed down a bit but some boats fishing in the deeper water have encountered the odd Tuna and Marlin, with fish being marked in 100 metres of water.

Time to dust off the trolling gear and get out there hunting some tuna.
