Well that was probably a little more of a stir up than we were hoping for, some of the biggest seas I’ve ever seen on the northside in conjunction with the king tides gave us an absolute pounding from top to bottom, prior to the weekend’s “Stormageddon” the fishing was looking pretty good. This upcoming long weekend’s weather is looking much more promising & as the water clears up the fish will be back on the chew in no time, I’m already hearing of some good captures from the harbour and offshore. Prior to the recent rain the “Twelve Mile Reef” had some good kings taking live and dead baits, Luke Ashley headed out with the Oceanhunter guys and had a mad session on the hoodlum fish.

Closer inshore some good squid have been landed around the heads as have decent flathead inside Manly from Quarantine to the point. Our current conditions have the bream going nuts so be sure to fish deep and get below the freshwater to the salt and use a good berley trail to entice them in, strip fillet baits and half pilchards lightly weighted have been successful. With our seas now calming its worth heading out to Long Reef chasing the snapper, this species loves a decent stir up and some good fish have already been caught this season, fishing in the 20-30 metre range will put you in the zone. Good luck & safe fishing over the long weekend.
