With the weather settling down a bit this week fishing reports have started rolling back in, & as quick as our inshore waters are clearing some solid captures are coming in from the local reefs just offshore. Peter Binks & David Rothwell landed some good sized winter kings using live yellowtail scad fishing out off of Texas Reef, the guys had a pretty crazy session landing five fish to 102cm and losing some bigger fish along the way. Our inshore reefs are firing at the moment after the big swell but be sure to check the forecasted conditions before you head out as the seas look to be picking up over the weekend as the weather turns.
The harbour has cleared up well post the previous weekends aftermath with some good fish being caught, Manly to Middle Head has some good flathead on the chew with schools of trevally also showing up in anglers’ berley trails, small soft plastics and pilchard baits fished near the bottom have been accounting for these species. Some decent whiting are showing up on the beaches with worms being a great bait to catch a feed, Mona Vale, Narrabeen and Curl Curl have all had good captures this week.
