Lakes Entrance
All surf beaches are good for salmon on pilchards, poppers and lures. Fish the highway bridge toward evening for bream on drifting prawns. Offshore at Six Mile-Reef you can find leatherjacket, pinkies, blue-eye trevally, pink ling, morwong, nannigai and snapper. The best results come on pilchard and squid.
Lake Tyers
Once again Camerons Arm to Nowa Nowa is fishing well with bream taking prawns. Devils Hole is good for bream and tailor. Best results on lures and prawns. Try Long Point and Toorloo Arm as well. Surf fishing is good for salmon, which are taking metal slugs and pilchards.
Mitchell River
Spider crab and soft plastics are best for bream from the Bluff to Shadoof Lodge. Wy Yung Bridge to the river mouth is good for mullet and tailor, which are taking lures and worms.
Tambo River
Fish around the highway bridge for bream. The best results have come on worms.
Nicholson
Try around the reeds and up to the strait six is best for bream with the preferred bait being worm.
Metung
The boardwalk for bream and the Nungurner Jetty for whiting. The best bait is smoked mussels.
Paynesville
Try Lake King for salmon and tailor. Troll with lures for the best results. Mullet are in the strait. Carstairs Bank and Bunga Arm are worth a look for bream and flathead.
Holland’s Landing
Bream are at the western end of the public jetty near the caravan park and the deep water jetty and can be caught on prawns. Evening is best for tailor on lures. Give McLennan Strait a try as well.
Marlo
Bream are in the rivers on prawn, and around the islands and Lake Corringle. Try the rock groynes for luderick, surf for salmon and offshore for a mixed bag.
Bemm River
Nice bream can be found in the Lake. For the best results use soft plastics, vibes and local prawns. Try the surf for salmon on metal lures.
Tamboon Inlet
Fish the river mouth to Furnell Landing for bream on worms. Pinkies and trevally are at the football ground on blue bait. Fish the surf for salmon.
Mallacoota
The Fisheries Jetty has tailor, trevally and luderick on weed and pilchards. Try the top lake for bream and flathead on yabbies and prawns. Gipsy Point is good for tailor on prawns.
Omeo High Country
Fish are about in all the rivers but best results are in the Mitta Mitta. Try all baits and lures.
