Lakes Entrance
Myer St floating jetty for trevally and mackerel, best bait being pilchard. All town jetties producing mullet taking worm. Whiting are to be found at Nungurner Jetty, best bait pippies. Surf beaches for salmon, try lures and pilchard. Off shore for good sized snapper, gummy sharks and flathead on pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers
Plenty of flathead throughout the system, best bait prawns and soft plastics. Bream are around the channel markers, the Glasshouse and above the islands. Best bait prawn and pilchards. The surf for salmon. When the wind drops plenty of tailor are smashing lures.

Mitchell River
Bream are at the flats at the mouth of the river taking prawn and hard bodied lures. Grassy banks are worth a look for bream. The highway bridge for perch taking lures. Bass are taking hard bodies lures from the barrier and up to Angus Vale.

Tambo River
From the boat ramp and all the way down to the river mouth for bream, best results using prawn, shrimp and sandworm.

Nicholson
The car bodies, reeds and the two bridges are good spots for bream. Best results using prawn and shrimp.

Metung
The town jetties are the place for bream, mullet and trevally. The board walk and Chinaman’s Creek are also worth a look. Those with boats can try Bell Point, Nungurner Jetty, Baxter and Flannagan Islands. Best bait prawn, worm, pippies and plastics.

Paynesville
Town and surrounding jetties for bream with bread as preferred bait. Ocean Grange for gummies taking pilchard and squid. Tailor are cruising Lake Victoria and Lake King taking metal lures.

Holland’s Landing
Seacombe Landing, the wood pile and the straights for bream, mullet and trevally. Best bait spider crab, worm and white bait. Try shallow banks for flathead on plastic and prawn.

Marlo
Fishing is good throughout the river system. Plenty of flathead in the narrows with lures and prawn as best bait. The surf for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. Plenty of mullet and bream in the lakes. Off shore for king fish, flathead, gummies and snapper taking squid and blue bait.

Bemm River
The lake is closed to the ocean. The channel for bream, flathead, and trevally taking soft plastics. Bream are out and about in the lake on prawn and hard bodied lures. The surf for salmon and tailor taking blue bait and poppers.

Tamboon Inlet
Bream are at the river mouth and island on fresh prawn and worm. Pelican Point for flathead on plastics and blue bait. Salmon and gummy shark on the surf using squid and pilchards.

Mallacoota
Off shore for kingfish taking lures. The surf for salmon on the incoming tide. Earl morning for flathead in the bottom lake on lures in shallow waters. Bream are taking yabbies. The fisheries jetty has luderick, trevally and bream on pilchard. The top lake is also fishing well.

Omeo High Country
Try Livingstone, Bundara and Anglers Rest for trout with drifting baits, flys, metal lures spinners or wobblers for best results
