Lakes Entrance
Ferryman’s jetty for mackerel, Post Office Jetty and Footbridge for mullet and trevally. Best bait to use is pilchers. Nungurner jetty and The Barrier for whiting on pippies and mussels. Surf beaches for salmon with pilchard and poppers being the best bait. Off shore, snapper, flatties and gummy shark. On the reef for kingfish, best bait pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers
Bream are around the islands, power lines and channel markers, for best results using pilchards and prawn. Flatties are in one meter depths of water and at the back of the football ground taking plastics and prawn.

Mitchell River
Shadoof Lodge, The Bluff and down to Two Bells for bream. The backwater and towards the highway bridge for perch on lures. Some bass from The Barrier heading upstream, best results using hard body lures.

Tambo River
From the Three Gums and heading towards The Snags for bream and flatties, best bait being fresh prawns
Nicholson From the Little Cliffs and down to the River Mouth for bream and the odd flatty, best bait being fresh prawn.

Metung
Bury’s Jetty and Boxes Creek for flatties, best results using plastics. Whiting at Shaving’s Point on pippies and worm. The Boardwalk to Chinaman’s Creek for bream and flatties, fresh prawn is the best bait.

Paynesville
Tailor are out and about in Lake King with best results trolling with lures. Bream are at the town jetties with best bait pippies and prawn. Surf for salmon and gummies with pilchards, poppers and squid for best results.

Holland’s Landing
Holland’s Landing, Griffin Point and up to Blond Bay for bream, mullet and flathead, with softshell, peeled prawn and worm being the best bait.

Marlo
Again Marlo are producing a good variety of fish. Plenty of bream, mullet, luderick, salmon and flathead to be taken. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. If you can get out off shore, plenty of kingfish, flatties, snapper and gummies.

Bemm River
Plenty of bream taking surface lures in the lake, Flatties in the channel taking live prawn. Bait prawns are in the lake. Salmon up to 3kg on pilchard and poppers are at the surf beach.

Tamboon Inlet
At the river mouth and Egan’s Bank for bream, best bait being prawn. Try shallow’s waters for flathead on plastics. Surf for salmon up to 1.5kg on blue bait.

Mallacoota
Off shore for kingfish up to 6kg with best results using lures. Surf for salmon on poppers and pilchards, top and bottom lake bream are taking yabbies. Fisheries Jetty has bream, trevally and luderick with best results being small pilchard and weed.

Omeo High Country
Mitta Mitta, Cobungra, Big River Bridge and the Victoria River for trout, with best bait being grass hoppers, flies and drifting worm.
