Down at Welshpool at Corner Inlet the snapper are back on the chew in Franklin Channel.

Plenty of whiting are still about and they're huge this year. They're averaging 42-43cm, and a customer recently brought in a 49cm one that weighed a kilo! They're taking pipis and squid, and are being caught in water as shallow as 4m and as deep as 17m.

Offshore there are heaps of kingfish in 30m. Most are being taken on 150-200g knife jigs, and you can find them with small 4-6" skirted lures.

Port Albert - there are whiting and pinkies inside, and big flathead on the sand flats taking soft plastics.

90 Mile Beach - anglers have been picking up big salmon to 3kg, with quite a few falling to poppers. At night there have been catches of gummies to 1m. Both species are being caught from Golden Beach through to McGaurans.

Gippsland Lakes - there are flathead in the Tambo and Mitchell rivers now up to 60cm. Anglers are picking up lots of small pinky snapper in the bottom end of the lakes. There's the odd school of kingfish inside to 75cm between Metung and Lakes Entrance.
