Lakes Entrance
Myers Street Jetty and the Footbridge for trevally on pilchard. Still some king fish about using a 4” large popper. Bunga Beach, Eastern Beach and the Main Beach for salmon using pilchard and metal lures. Offshore for good size snapper, gummies, flathead and mako shark, on pilchard and squid. The Barrier for whiting on pippies and worm.

Lake Tyers
The whole lake system is producing good flathead and bream in depths of 1 to 5 metres of water, best bait is prawn, soft plastics and hard bodied lures. The surf for salmon on pilchard and poppers. Prawns are also to be had in shallow water

Mitchell River
Bass are about at Lindenow and The Bluff. The Wyung Bridge for perch around 44cm. Bream at The Bluff and towards Two Bells. Best results using cut crab and metal lures.

Tambo River
Bream are to be found from Sardine Flats, Rough Road, Sandys Bluff, the boat ramp and Cluess Bluff. Best bait is worm and local prawn.

Nicholson
The Highway Bridge and Railway Bridge are producing bream with prawn and worm. Also try The Tyers and up to The Cliffs.

Metung
The Boardwalk, town jetties and around the hotel for bream, best bait being prawn and lures. King fish are about in the lake chasing bait fish. Prawns are also around Duck island and The Barrier.

Paynesville
The backwaters and Newlands Arm for flathead on prawn and soft plastics. Boole Poole Peninsula has flathead. Full moon coming will bring in gummies at Steamer Landing and Ocean Grange. Best bait pilchard and squid.

Holland’s Landing
Tom’s Creek at the wharf for bream on spider crab. Griffin Point on the southern side for bream and flathead, also mullet on worm, pilchard and Mr Twister Rubber Tail Jigs.

Marlo
Bream and luderick are a bit patchy at this time. Trolling near the entrance with lures for salmon and tailor. Offshore for kingfish, gummies, pinkies and flathead on pilchard, blue bait and squid.

Bemm River
Bream are in the lake taking prawn and tailor strips. Tailor are cruising the channel chasing lures. Salmon at the beach with poppers and blue bait.

Tamboon Inlet
Bream are in the river chasing prawn. Flathead are about on the Western Bay using white and blue bait for best results.

Mallacoota
The Top Lake for bream and flathead. Fisheries Wharf for flathead and trevally on pilchard on the incoming tide. Luderick in Harrisons Channel on the outgoing tide using weed. Yellow fin bream at the entrance taking prawn. Yellow fin whiting at Howe Bight on worm. Salmon on the surf taking pilchard and poppers.

Omeo High Country
For trout, the best spots would be the Mitta Mitta using hopper fly fishing. Check what insects are about and match up with the same fly pattern. Try spinners and wobblers as well.
