Lakes Entrance
Trevally are taking blue bait and pilchards around the town jetties. Up the North Arm towards the winery for Garfish biting on worm. All the surf beaches for Salmon on pilchard and poppers. Offshore around Six Mile Reef for “Pinkies”, Morwong, “Gummies” and Sword Fish taking yellow tail, squid and pilchard.

Lake Tyers
Good sized “Pinkies” are in the lake system and will take all baits. Bream and Flathead are in the bottom half taking blue bait and pilchard. Surf beaches are producing good Salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Mitchell River
Best spots for Bream are from Grass Banks to Eagle Point on spider crab, worm and prawn. The highway bridge for Flathead and Perch, best results using soft plastics and prawn.

Tambo River
Around Sardine Flats and up to Punthouse Point for juvenile Bream taking local frozen prawn. The snags and river mouth also have Bream biting on frozen local prawn.

Nicholson
From the tyres and head all the way to the little cliffs and Thumb Point for Bream on prawn. Also try floating or live prawn.

Metung
The boardwalk is producing good size Dusky Flathead all around 55cm plus. Bait of choice being fresh prawn. Bream are a bit quiet at the moment.

Paynesville
The mouth of the Mitchell for Bream taking prawn. Newlands Arm for Flathead on soft plastics. Trolling with lures for Tailor in Lake King. Full moon is on the rise again, so “Gummies” on the beach on pilchard and squid.

Holland’s Landing
Jones Bay and the mouth of Tom’s Creek for Flathead on white bait and prawn. The wharf at Tom’s Creek at night for large Bream on spider crab. Blonde Bay is also worth a look for Bream and Mullet on worm and peeled prawn.

Marlo
Bream are a bit quiet at the moment but some are about. Luderick are about and there is plenty of Mullet taking worm. Surf beach have Salmon taking lures and all baits. Offshore for Flathead and “Gummies” taking pilchard and squid.

Bemm River
Bream are in the lake system taking soft plastics. Bream are also in deeper areas, around the edges biting on hard body lures and prawn. Surf for Trevally and Salmon taking blue bait, pilchard as well as poppers.

Tamboon Inlet
Bream at the river mouth taking sand worm and prawn. Egan’s Bank and Pelican Point for Flathead taking blue bait and pilchards for best results.

Mallacoota
Plenty of Salmon off the beach taking blue bait, pilchards and popper. Bream are a bit patchy but best up in the Top Lake using prawn, yabbies and soft plastics. Luderick at Fisheries Jetty and Harrison’s Channel with weed as best bait.

Omeo High Country
Anglers Rest, Gibbo, Mitta Mitta and the Livingstone Rivers are all worth a look for trout with floating worm, spinners and wobblers for best results.
