Lakes Entrance
Good size trevally are to be found on the town jetties, bait of choice being white bait. Garfish are up the North Arm near Wyanga Winery on worm. Surf beaches for salmon. Off shore for pinkies and snapper at six mile reef on squid and pilchards, further out wide for swordfish.

Lake Tyers
From the islands and toward Nowa Nowa Arm for bream on prawn, try Blackfellow’s Arm, Crystal Bay and Long Point. Early morning or night time is best. The odd tailor are around taking prawn.

Mitchell River
Bream are slowly moving up to Shadoof Lodge and towards the backwater which is also producing tailor and mullet on prawn, worm and spider crab.

Tambo River
The Blue Hole and the Cliffs are the best spot for flathead with peeled prawn as preferred bait.

Nicholson
From the railway bridge and towards Pear Tree and the little cliffs for bream taking prawn.

Metung
The Board Walk, Chinaman’s Creek and Box’s Creek for bream, mullet and perch. It may be a bit patchy but try in the shallows at night for larger bream on live prawn and spider bait.

Paynesville
With the cooler weather fishing is a bit quiet, but King Street boat ramp is producing good bream taking worm as best bait.

Holland’s Landing
At night time the woodpile and Tom’s Creek are the best spots for bream. Spider crab is the preferred bait.

Marlo
The lake system and the Snowy River for mullet taking worm. For bream try early morning and late evening with crabs as best bait. Off shore has plenty of kingfish on squid and pilchard.

Bemm River
In the lake for bream, best results using peeled prawn, worm and soft plastics. The channel trolling with diving lures will provide tailor. Pearl Point for salmon with pilchards and poppers as best bait.

Tamboon Inlet
At the river mouth and Furnell Landing for bream on cut crab. The surf for salmon taking pilchards, poppers and metal lures.

Mallacoota
Bream are in the upper reaches of the top lake along with the odd flathead with bass yabbies as preferred bait. Fisheries Jetty on the incoming tide for luderick and trevally on weed and white bait. The surf has salmon on pilchard and poppers.

Omeo High Country
Fishing has become quiet as it is breeding time in the High Country. Coming up this month is the Dartmouth Fishing Comp with great prizes on offer.
