Lakes Entrance
Trevally can be found around the footbridge taking blue bait and pilchard. Try town jetties for Mullet and Tailor. Bunga Beach is best for Salmon using silver metal lures, pilchard and poppers. Offshore at 6 and 7-mile reef for “Pinkies” and Morwong. Water temperature is around 17o.

Lake Tyers
From the main lake, up past the islands to Cameron’s Arm and Devil’s Hole for Flathead, Bream and Tailor. Main lake has Trevally and Bream. Blackfellow’s Arm is also good. Best baits are prawn and vibes.

Mitchell River
The Bluff, grassy banks and up to the old butter factory for Bream with cut crab and prawn. Back water and highway bridges for Mullet on worm.

Tambo River
From Howletts Flat, Punthouse Point and Marshall Flat for Bream. Best bait being worm and shrimp.

Nicholson
The river mouth either floating or drifting with prawn around weed beds for Bream. Also try swimming hole and pear tree for Mullet and Garfish on worm.

Metung
The boardwalk and Chinaman’s Creek are best spots to try for Bream and Mullet. The silt jetties and the river mouth are producing good Bream on cut crab, prawn and worm.

Paynesville
Tailor and Mullet are around Ocean Grange. Best results using lures and worm. Surf is producing Flathead and Salmon using pilchard and popper.

Holland’s Landing
Plover Point and Lake Wellington for Bream, Mullet and Flathead with best results using worm. The Straits through to Medusa Point are also worth a look using prawn.

Marlo
A good mix of fish are about such as Mullet, Bream and Luderick biting on worm and prawn. Surf for Salmon and Tailor on pilchard and poppers. Offshore, “Gummies” and Flathead.

Bemm River
The Entrance is still open. Surf for Salmon with lures as preferred bait. The river and lake system is producing plenty of Bream with best results on worm and prawn.

Tamboon Inlet
Lake is still good for “Pinkies” taking pilchard. Old man point and the camp site are worth a try. Peach Tree Creek and up to the river for Bream & Flathead taking lures also try Pelican Point for Flathead also on lures.

Mallacoota
Best spot for Bream is at the top of the system at Gipsy Point, the Genoa and Wallagaraugh rivers. Best bait is yabby. Surf beach for Salmon on pilchard and popper.

Omeo High Country
With conditions as they are, the Mitta Mitta is about the best spot for Trout on lures and worm.
