Lakes Entrance
Footbridge and town jetties for flathead and bream on blood worm and weighted prawn. Nungurner area for whiting on pippies and worm. The surf for salmon at all beaches. Offshore for 1 to 2kg pinkies and gummies, flathead closer to the beach. Best bait pilchard and squid.

Lake Tyers
Early morning for bream taking prawn and hard bodied lures. Above the islands and power lines has pinkies, bream and flathead taking prawn. The channel markers are worth a look. The surf for salmon.

Mitchell River
Best spots for bream and perch are the backwaters, highway bridge and the mouth of the Mitchell. Best results using prawn, shrimp and soft plastics. Trout fishing is a bit quiet at the moment but try flys with patience.

Tambo River
The three gums and the river mouth for bream taking live shrimp. Try the river mouth around the rocks and snags for flathead taking prawn

Nicholson
The little cliffs and heading toward the river mouth are the best spots for bream on live shrimp and cut crab. Some flathead are cruising, prawn as preferred bait.

Metung
The Boardwalk and Chinaman’s Creek for bream. Whiting around the island and Nungurner area on worm. Some flathead cruising the shallow bank on prawn and plastics.

Paynesville
Newland’s Arm and Eagle Point Bay for tailor trolling with lures giving best results. Plenty of prawns in the shallows. Town jetties for bream taking shrimp. Ocean Grange for gummies on pilchard and squid.

Holland’s Landing
Town jetties for mullet on worm. Some tailor are chasing lures. Bream at Blonde Bay and Tom’s Creek to Storm Point. Best bait peeled prawn.

Marlo
All the rivers are producing good fish. From the Marlo Jetty to Frenches Narrows for flathead smashing lures. Surf beaches for salmon and tailor on pilchards and poppers. Off shore for gummies and flathead.

Bemm River
Bream are in the lake hitting surface lures, prawn and soft plastics. The surf for salmon on pilchards, poppers and lures.

Tamboon Inlet
Most of the fish have moved to the lake. The football ground for flathead on blue bait and prawn and Pelican Point on soft plastics. Egan’s Bank is producing bream on prawn and worm.

Mallacoota
Surf for salmon on pilchards and poppers. Both lakes are producing bream and flathead, best bait yabbies and lures. The Main Wharf for luderick on weed. Fishing has improved.

Omeo High Country
All rivers are a bit low waiting for rain. The trout are targeting hoppers as bait of choice.
