Barwon River
The Barwon River continues to prove a productive option for anglers prepared to put in the effort, Alanna Weight and partner Marcus Anyon decided to head out on Sunday with the aim of fishing plastics in some of the holes above the Sheepwash. They didn’t have to wait long as their slow rolled Turtleback worms got smashed by quality Mulloway. Marcus managed 4 fish in 4 casts measuring 59cm, 65cm, 66cm and 85cm. Determined not to be outdone Alanna persisted and changed her retrieve to a slow roll, success was immediate and Alanna found herself connected to a quality fish after a lengthy struggle on 5lb line Alanna eventually landed a quality Mulloway of 70cm, all fish were released to fight another day. As well as Mulloway there are still some quality Trevally moving around the estuary.
Justin Burns and Phil Nelson Headed out from Queenscliff on Saturday with a feed of Whiting on their minds, anchoring on the grass beds and putting in a light burley trail they found the fish more than willing managing to bag out on Whitingfrom 30-40cm as well as a couple of Trevally to 45cm, heading up towards the mouth of Swan Bay they then managed to bag out on squid as well finding the Gancraft range of jigs to be the most productive.

Corio Bay
Justin also fished the Corio Bay inner harbour on Sunday with Simon Williams focusing on the structures around the western shoreline they managed to get amongst plenty ofPinkies to 40cm finding Gulp Crabbies and Nemesis to be the most consistent producers.
Heading out to Curlewis on Saturday 6 year old Amelia Murdoch fished with her Grandfather Barrie with the aim of targeting a few Flathead, they managed to catch plenty of quality fish with Amelia managing the largest that measured 57cm
Tackleworld staff member Kevin Hunter headed down to Portland on the weekend to fish the ANSA convention. Kingfish were at the top of anglers hit list with plenty of fish captured, Gavin Malony managed the highest point scoringkingfish with a fish of 5.8kg on 6kg line, other notable captures for the comp were Glenn Millers 12kg Southern Bluefin captured on 4kg line as well as plenty of Salmon to 3kg. Kevin also reports losing an impressive Thresher Sharkof about 80kg on 6kg line that managed a couple of awesome jumps before they parted ways.
Plenty of quality Kings were also caught outside the Convention with Darren Wloch and Tim Drewery managing fish to 10kg fishing live squid under a balloon. Dalibor Smek also headed down to try his luck, anchoring up in about 11 metres of water and setting up a burley trail Dalibor found the going slow but persisting for a few hours the fish finally found his trail, the action soon hotted up and he managed to boat some quality fish to 11kg, he found that squid strips and pilchards to be his most successful baits.
On the freshwater scene Wurdee Boluc is still producing some quality Redfin and Trout for those anglers prepared to put in the hard yards, Quality Brown and Rainbow Trout are being taken on mudeyes fished under a bubble float in close to the edges. Redfin to 45cm are being taken by anglers fishing Fish Arrows and Bob n Spoons

Next Week
Over the next week Anglers have plenty of options with most of our most popular species on fire. If the wind blows up try the Barwon estuary or the Corio Bay inner harbour and if conditions allow try offshore from Ocean Grove for some of the quality Makos and smaller Kings that are making their presence felt at the moment.
