Report 27/7/17

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jul 28, 2017 3:02 pm

Another quiet week again with only a couple of reports coming through. The Murray appears to have settled at 1.43mtrs but there is another small rise due sometime next week, with water coming out of the Goulburn again..The rise coming down the Murrumbidgee is expected to hit Maude within a week or so,which should stirs things up.

THE MURRAY RIVER:
- The yellas are still on the bite in the Lock 9/Fort Courage are,.both on bait and small lures.
- A report from the Boundary Bend store said that a couple of just size cod were caught last weekend on bardi grubs along with several yellas up to 48cm using scrubworms and frozen shrimp.
- A local fishing near the Abbs during the week landed a couple of nice yellas on scrubworms.
- Had a couple of guys in this morning who are camped out on Pental Island last night and they said they heard a couple of pretty loud boofs off the top ,so they are hoping to entice a couple of good size cod over the weekend with diving and surface lures.
- An angler fishing above Brooks Lane picked up a 63cm cod last sunday with a bardi grub and a couple of yellas on worms bobbed amongst the snags.

# With only 5 weekends left of the cod season, I would expect there will be a bit more activity on our rivers in the coming weeks.

## This weeks photos are of good size cod caught recenty off the top, which just shows that surface lures are a "must have" in your lure arsenal-these 2 cod were caught on Koolabung Cod Crackers.

Until Next Week JC
