Report 6/6/19

Post by Nicole Penfold » Thu Jun 06, 2019 2:40 pm

June long weekend is the last chance for people to enjoy a few days on the river before winter really sets in.The forecast of 17 to 18degs is far better than the 12 to 14 we have had and there is no sign of rain until late sunday if we get any at all!!!

- Craig Pilling and his son Nathan sent in photos of a 40cm and a 45cm yella and a 70cm cod they caught on a trolled light coloured oargee at Wentworth last weekend.
- The river downstream of Wentworth has been producing good numbers of yellas on small yabbies and shrimp(when you can get them)
- The Boundary Bend area produced several yellas up to 49cm on yabbies and scrubworms and a couple of legal cod were caught on black/purple and black/white spinnerbaits on the cast.
- A couple of locals picked up a feed of yellas by bobbing yabbies amongst the snags at Wood Wood last weekend.
- Here at Swan Hill there have been some good size cod taking both lures and bait, with an 80cm cod smashing a black/orange JD Python near Murray Downs during the week.
- Justen Chester landed his first cod (44cm) fishing upstream from swan hill, then landed a second PB with a 57cm cod, both caught on a Black/Red Oargee-his mate Glen Boag sent his photos in.

- The Maude weir pool is still producing yellas and cod on most baits and lures on the troll.

## For anyone contemplating fishing for Murray crays this weekend, leave your nets at home,as most rivers in NSW are still closed to craying!

This weeks photos:
- Craig & Nathans 40-45cm yellas and 70cm cod.
- Justens Chesters two cod PB's.

For people travelling to Swan Hill I am open all weekend, and don't forget to send in your reports/photos. Have a great long weekend, JC
