Report 30/10/15

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Oct 30, 2015 12:48 pm

It looks we are going to have great weather for this Melb.Cup weekend, any forecast rain ain't going to happen,I have plenty of yabbies,scrubworms,A1 an d Red worms in stock waiting for eager fishermen to hit the rivers.

- The Murray river at Boundary Bend and at Incincible Bend is producing good numbers of yellas up to 50+cm along with a few cod, taking small yabbies shrimp and scrubbies.Spinnerbaits have also been a bit productive.
-Mates of mine fished the Murrumbidgee river below the weir over the past couple of days and landed some nice yellas up to 48cm and got busted off a couple of times. They said the river was teaming with large shrimp.
-The junction of the Murray and Wakool rivers at Kenley is still producing good numbers of yellas on small yabbies and shrimp.
-Locally the Murray has dropped and little over a foot but is still producing a few yellas around the Runciman Rd area and out at Brooks Lane.
- 130 anglers competed in the combined angling clubs competition on both the Wakool and Edward river at Kyalite last weekend, where nearly 100kilo of yellas were weighed(which is the most they have caught in the past 3 yrs) in with the biggest at 2.9kg and Vicki from the pub said that there were a lot of good size cod and catfish caught in both rivers and were obviously released back into the water straight away-its good to see the catfish coming back.-most of the fish were caught on all baits.
-And the annual Redfin Classic was held at Lake Charm last weekend where 200 competitiors caught 40 reddies on the Saturday and 50 reddies were caught in the morning session after it became stormy. The winner of the comp landed 16 redfin and the 2nd place getter land 15,most of the fish were caught on small yabbies-the was one cod at 58cm caught and no yellas, which is susprising for this time of the year.

Until Next Week, Happy Fishing JC

Some happy junior anglers at the Kyalite comp.

Here's what you can catch in Lake Charm-two guys caught 70 of them, most around the 2lb mark on small 50mm lures over 5 hours in March.
