Report 20/11/15

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Nov 20, 2015 3:08 pm

Just checked the weekend weather and its going to be a sunny not to hot weekend to get out amongst the fish. The reports have been a bit mixed this week with some places doing well and others not so good.

-Mick from the Boundary Bend store reports that quality yellas are being caught on scrubworms and shrimp and he said that one caravan park resident has been averaging 3 good size cod per day on scrubbies and shrimp, which is a good sign for the opening season, which is only 11 days away.
-Barnsy from the Kyalite Pub said that the Wakool had been fishing well up until last sunday, when it shut down, but he did say that a few cod had been caught this week and he also said that the river is pretty high.

-Yesterday i called in on some campers on the Wakool river camped on the reserve on the other side of Wakool township and they said that they had been picking up some nice yellas to 50cm on small yabbies and scrubbys and several cod to 79cm .
-The report from the Fort Courage caravan park is that a few legal yellas have been picked up in the last week on most baits.
-Gibbo sent me a picture of his grandaughter with a 80cm(PB) cod which she caught using 8lb line(so she differently was'nt chasing cod)on shrimp in the Edward river near Moulamein last weekend.
-Locally the Murray has produced a few legal yellas in the Nyah forest area, a couple were caught near Murray Downs and a few have been landed near the Floodway-most have been caught on small yabbies, shrimp and worms.
