Report 5/2/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Feb 05, 2016 10:10 am

Just checked the forecast for the next week and its no rain and warm weather predicted and hopefully little or no wind.

-The Murray River:
- The Wentworth area is still producing large cod on Mumblers and large hardbodied lures.
- One camp at Wemen landed several cod up to 72cm on black/pink and black/green 120mm codzillas on the troll.
- A couple of anglers picked up a couple of legal cod fishing with bardi grubs in the Hattah area.
- Brendan Hunt was trolling a pink/purple lure at Belsar Island last weekend and picked up a 83cm cod(this weeks photo).
- A 1.2mtr cod was caught on a trolled black/green lure in shallow water at Nyah last thursday, which is a good sign for the annual Nyah Football Club fishing comp. next weekend.
- At Swan Hill a 57cm cod was picked up at River Rd and several cod up to 60cm have been taking grubs and yabbys and yellas to 48cm are taking small yabbys and shrimp.
- The Edward River:
- The Moulamein area is producing good numbers of cod from 30cm to 87cm on spinnerbaits, grubs and yabbies and several yellas to 49cm have been taking shrimp and scrubbies.
- The Darling River:
- A few locals fished above Pooncarrie last weekend and landed several cod to a metre plus mostly on spinnerbaits, but unfortunately the locals up there reckon the holes that do have water in them, will be dry by march-and we all know what that means!

# The annual Nyah Football Club fishing comp is on next weekend the 12th & 13th for anybody interested-they run a pretty good comp.

Until Next Week Happy Fishing JC
The 1st photo is from Brendan Hunty with his 83cm cod.
A solid fish caught on a Koolabung Cod Cracker surface lure recently.
