Report 10/6/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jun 10, 2016 4:57 pm

### NEWS BREAK - FINALLY the RED ALERT has been lifted on the Murray River between Torrumbarry and Red Cliffs-And Barnsy from the Kyalite Pub said on his Facebook page this week, that the algae had gone from the Kyalite area=Hopefully those anglers that have stayed from our area because of the algae, can now return to their favourite spots, because there is plenty of fish to be caught.

THE MURRAY RIVER:
- A group of mates braved the shitty weather last weekend and camped out on Pental Island, they landed 4 small cod in an hour and finished up with 10 for the day, ranging from 45-54cm all caught on grubs. And on the sunday they managed to get a 80+cm cod to within a metre of the boat, before it got off and swam away.
- A couple of just legal cod were landed at Kenley last sunday-one on a yabby and the other on a grub.
- The Mildura area is still producing good size cod and trolled dark coloured large lures and some good numbers of yellas have also been landed on lures and bait.

THE DARLING RIVER:
- There are quite a few anglers heading to the Pooncarrie area this weekend, with reports of large cod still being caught on lures on the cast and on the surface.

THE EDWARD RIVER:
- The river between Kyalite and Moulamein produced the odd cod to 59cm on bait last weekend, but they said it was pretty hard going.

## Now that the Red Alerts has been lifted,we should see more anglers out on our rivers, which inturn .should result in more fishing reports, which have been lacking for the past 7 LONG weeks.

Until Next Week-Hope everyone has a great long weekend-JC
