Report 22/7/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jul 22, 2016 2:49 pm

Friday's here again and we have had showers AGAIN (3mm in my guage). The Murray is still rising and there is still a lot more to come in coming weeks. The Edward river at Moulamein is also rising and is currently sitting at 3.05 mtrs with 3800megs a day and that will increase to 5000megs a day over the next few weeks.
The good news is that the Minindee lakes have seen there best inflows in 3 years, which means that the Darling River will get a much needed drink, which will ensure that the fish currently stuck in holes will be able to get back to their normal haunts.

THE MURRAY RIVER:
- A couple of legal cod were caught near Murray Downs last sunday-one on a bardi and the other on a yabby/scrubworm cocktail.
- A 61cm cod was picked up using a Bassman yellow fluro 4x4 spinnerbait near Goodnight last saturday along with a couple of legal yellas on scrubworms.
- Campers at Caelli lane landed 3 legal yellas and one small cod using small yabbies and scrubworms early in the week.

THE LITTLE MURRAY:
- One holiday maker at the Riverside Caravan park land a 76cm cod using a yabby fishing off the bank during the week.

THE EDWARD RIVER & BILLABONG CREEK:
- With rises going through both the river and creek the fish have come back on the bite with several cod cod up to 80cm caught in the creek all on bait early in the week.

# This weeks cod pic was caught on a Koolabung Holographic Codzilla.

Until Next Week-Happy Fishing JC
