Report 30/7/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Sun Jul 31, 2016 3:27 pm

Once again traffic on your rivers has been pretty quite with the crappy weather, but a few did venture out with a bit of success.
The Murray has settled for the moment and is sitting at about 3/4 level, the Wakool at Kyalite is high according to Barnsy, the Edward is still rising and I heard the Neimur rose a metre and a half last week and there were a few good fish caught in that river.
And there is good news at last for the Darling River below the Minindee Lakes with water flowing as of yesterday, with a reported 1.5 Gig's a day being pushed through, which will certaintly help revive the river and the fish currently stuck on holes.

THE WAKOOL RIVER:
- Had recent reports of yellas up to 5lb taking No. 3 stumpjumpers at Genoe and downstream of Genoe several cod up to 90cm were caught on twinspin spinnerbaits with white skirts.
- Barnsy from the Kyalite pub said that there had been little activity on the river with the cold windy weather, but as he said there are still plenty of fish there to be caught.

THE NEIMUR RIVER:
- One angler took advantage of a rising river and landed a 67cm and a 56cm on a Black/Pink JD Eddy lure last weekend on the cast.

THE MURRAY RIVER:
- One boat fishing close to the bank upstream from Brooks Lane landed a 55cm cod on a bardi rub and two yellas 38 & 41cm on shrimp and scrubworms last saturday.
- A couple of mates camped near Boundary Bend last weekend and landed one just legal cod and two smallers ones and also picked up a couple of legal yellas on yabbies and scrubbies, they also fished close to the bank.

THE DARLING RIVER:
- A father and son called into the shop on monday on there way back from Pooncarrie, where the son landed his first cod on a surface lure,it measured 105cm and was caught on a Muldoon Big Willie. They also landed two other cod around the 75cm mark on Muldoon King Mongs.

# There is only a month left of the cod season and hopefully the weather will start to pick up as we head into August, allowing anglers to have there last "cod hit" before it closes.

## 1st photo caught on a Bassman Spinnerbait and the 2nd on a 175mm Kuttafurra Longjohn.

Until Next Week -JC.
