Report 17/2/17

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Feb 17, 2017 3:35 pm

Last week's stinking hot weather and then a cold change and a dropping barometer turned the fish and anglers off.Weather conditions for this weekend are going to be far more favourable.

THE MURRAY RIVER:

- The Wemen area is producing legal yellas on bait fishing in the shallower water with bait.
- Had a report yesterday of a couple of cod caught in the Kenley area.
- Had a report of a cod being caught at Boundary Bend on a trolled lure.
- The Nyah Fishing comp was held last weekend with 70 boats competing withSnail Henson wonning the comp for the second year in a row with 2 cod over 60cm caught on bardi grubs.
- A regular customer camped out on Penta Island last weekend and fished back up river towards Murrabit on the saturday and finished up with a 67cm cod caught on a wood grub,2 smaller cod around 45cm and a 40cm silver. On the sunday he fished closer to Caeli Lane and finished up with a 54-40-20cm cod and another 40cm silver..
- The Murrabit area produced a few legal cod on yabbies, grubs and scrubworms.

THE MURUMBIDGEE RIVER:

- The pool water between Maude and Hay is still producing plenty of cod ranging from 40 to 90+cm on trolled purple, blue & green holographic Koolabungs.

LAKE BOGA:

- The southern end of the lake is producing yellas and redfin on baits and small lures and bobbers.

LAKE CHARM:

- The redfin slowed down with the hot weather last week but a few bigger fish are being picked up on trolled lures and the best baits are minows, small yabbies and scrubbies.

KANGAROO LAKE:

- The northern end of the lake is still producing yellas and redfin fishing early in the morning on baits and I would be flicking vibes at the outlet.

THE CHANNEL SYSTEM:

- The channel system between Kangaroo Lake and Lake Boga continues to produce very big yellas, with Taylor Rovere smashing them over the past months-one he got last weekend was 61cm(this weeks photo). All his fish have been caught on dark coloured bibless vibes.

## The annual Swan Hill Fishing Comp is on the 3rd & 4th March at the Pental Island Caravan Park. There have been some nice cod and yellas caught in that area over the past couple of months and the organisers put on a great weekend.

### I managed to get some bardi grubs in last weekend BUT they wont last long if anyone is looking for some!
