Report 16/6/17

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jun 16, 2017 10:31 am

Apart from the cool breeze on the friday the June long weekend could not have been any better for fishing, with the barometer sitting around 1032 and a rising murray river meant that some good catches were recorded throughout the region.
The forecast for this weekend is for sunny 15deg days with no rain in sight.

MURRAY RIVER:
- Lock 9 is still producing good numbers of yellas, with some whoppers getting caught mainly on shrimp fished in the deep water.
- Campers at the Vinifera forest landed several cod to 57cm on black/purple and black/ orange oargees over the weekend-it was there first trip to this area so they were pretty happy.
- Another group camped at Wood Wood and finished up with 6 cod between 55 & 56cm's all caught on trolled lures and also got to 2 yellas to 46cm on yabbies.
- Some mates on their first trip to swan hill camped at Caeli Lane over the weekend and had 7 cod ranging from 50 to 54cm on there first day,all caught on yabbies.
- Saw a picture of a good size yella caught on bait near Greenham Lane.
- Kane Maniapoto sent throught 2 pics yesterday of a 55cm and a 50cm cod he and his girlfriend caught at Pental Island-its was her 1st cod
- Kelly Dubberley sent through a pic of a 105cm cod his mate caught below the weir at Torrumbarry on a black/red stumpjumper.

THE LITTLE MURRAY:
- A couple of kids fishing from the bank at the Big 4 caravan park landed a 70cm cod early in the week on a shrimp/worm cocktail and I also heard another camper landed 2 at 56cm on yabbies.

THE KYALITE AREA:
- Vicki from the pub said that most of the campers on the Wakool and Edward rivers finished up with good numbers of yellas caught on bait and as I reported last week,Ken said that one camp on the exchange reserve had caught several legal cod in the wakool late last week.

LAKE BOGA:
- Jason from the caravan park rang today to say that Grant who is staying at the park landed cod yellas and reddies during the day yesterday, and after showing Jas some of his catch,he invited him out for a fish, and at the end of the day the total catch was 15 yellas up to 60cm,4 cod between 45 & 55cm's and some redfin of varying sizes-all fish were caught on bibless vibes i.e. Kakoda,Strike Pro & Jackalls-THE pleasing thing is that most of the fish were caught near the "Fish Motels"

Photos: 105cm from Kelly Dubberley, Kane Maniapoto's girlfriend with her 1st cod, plus some fish caught at Lake Boga yesterday.

## Dont forget the 15% off selected lures finishes in two weeks=and if you are chasing some 170mm Koolabung Cod Crackers, they will be in the shop from tomorrow.

Until Next Week-Happy Fishing-JC
