Lake Eildon:
69.40 up 0.74% this week.
Fishing: 7/10.
Eildon is looking in great shape for spring with early signs of a good Redfin and yella season. The yellas are predominantly being picked up around the trees on both bait and plastics. There is also the occasional one being trolled up while chasing trout and Redfin. Halco's, ac invaders and stumpys have all been viable options recently. Colours have been mixed but red/black or mixed Fluro seems to be the go. The trout fishing has been great with some better quality browns being picked up on the troll. Colours in the winged lure department has been mixed also. White, pink, orange and silver have all had their success at times. Best to keep lure rotations up to see what is best. Bullet lures, rapalas and cowbells and worms have also seen a few fish caught. A few anglers have also been picking up a few casting grassy bays early and late in the day. Fish arrow soft plastics, rapalas, bullets and spoons have all been successful. The Redfin scene is pretty quiet from the last few months but they won't be far off spawning and should see big numbers again soon. Anglers are reporting seeing good schools of fish but are struggling to pick up a fish, they must be thinking about other things
Lake Hume:
89.92% up 1.03% this week.
Fishing: 7.5/10.
As a lot of you would have seen on other Facebook pages there is more and more Quality browns being caught at Hume. If your wanting to score a better quality fish Hume is the go. Tassies and hardbodies seem to be the best with pink, white, silver all being successful colours. Flatlining and leadcoring 3-5 couples seems to be the go and if you have downrigger it's worth a go too. A few Redfin are being picked up on blades and lipless cranks from both the bank and the boat. The grassy bays seem to be the go at the moment. I'll be up there Monday and hopefully get onto a couple.
Dartmouth:
82.21% up 0.35% this week.
Fishing: 6.5/10.
A few local fishos ventured up there on the weekend with only 8 fish caught for the weekend which is a little below what has been average in recent times. There is another local group heading up this weekend so hopefully I can get a few more reports.
Haven't heard anything from waranga, buffalo and Nillahcootie.
Shaun and luke had an afternoon session up at William hovell landing 6 browns and a rainbow on the troll. Nothing of real size but fun non the less.
Just a reminder that the cod season is closed, unfortunately some anglers were oblivious to this. The rules are there for a reason and should be upheld. If you want a cod fix Eildon is open all year round.
There is a high pressure system over us this weekend with Sunday looking like the better day. Make sure you always check the weather before you go though!
