Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jan 29, 2016 5:04 pm

Tomorrow's weather is looking pretty good with a south wind around 4 to 8 knots a d a southwest swell of 2.5 metres . The sun will try and break out and the air temp quite reasonable.

Sunday again looking the goods with a southwest wind 8 to 10 knots and a southwest swell of 2.4 metres . Overcast conditions but the air temp will again be reasonable.
Please always check up to date weather reports before boating as conditions can change.

We should see some nice kingfish around this weekend as the conditions are looking good. What a great season so far with fish up to 15 kg and maybe bigger . the Lee breakwater has also seen some great kingfish which is fantastic to see. The snapper are in good numbers around the North also ranging up to 50 cm which are great plate size fish also the whiting and squid are in good numbers also.

Salmon school still around the bay and some of these guys have been up to 4 kg. great fun on light gear and also great for bait.

Deep bottom fishing still in full force weather permitting blue eye being the main target.

Portland compleat angler will be open all weekend 7.30am to 6pm and we have all your bait and tackle for all your fishing needs. Also fishing licences available in store.
