Report 1/6/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jun 03, 2016 4:42 pm

We are looking at a northeast breeze of 6 knots and dropping to 3 knots after lunch. Southwest swell of 2 metres but wil rise to 3 metres late in the day. The air is a bit fresh but the sun is shining. rest of the week is looking the goods also.

As I said this morning there is plenty of boats already out and they are still launching now. Not everyone is tuna fishing today some are taking advantage of the good conditions and are heading out for a bottom bounce.

yesterday the guys found them a bit hard to hit but as the tides improve so should the fishing.Plenty of numbers out there and certainly plenty of baitfish . There is a nice warm current around our coastline right down past Bridgwater bay 70 o 120 metres seem to be the hot spots. I would guess that's the other reason for the influx of Dolphins fish caught at the moment Also.

Keep an eye on the weekend weather and for the third round of the Portland tuna Compertion as Saturdays conditions are looking fantastic and Sunday we are looking at a change but at this stage still fishable.

For all your bait and tackle needs look no further than Portland Compleat Angler. Call in and say g'day and check out the range we have in store. We are open all day today till 6 pm and we have fishing licences available in store.

Have a great day everyone and Happy Fishing.

Cheers Nigel.
