Report 24/6/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jun 24, 2016 4:33 pm

SATURDAY we are looking at a nothwest wind around 14 knots with minimal gusts bust the southwest swell will still be around 4 metres but again dropping a bit in the afternoon. Overcast condition but the sun may try and break through.
SUNDAY looking at a northwest wind again around 17 knots with gusts around 20 knots . Southwest swell back down to 2.7 metres with overcast conditions .
Please if you are venturing out on the boat this weekend please check up to date weather reports as this is a guide only.

Well this week has been pretty quiet fishing wise due to the weather . But it seems that there is still plenty of school tuna out there when the conditions are fishable plus they are getting closer in so the runs aren't to big either.
Perhaps we might see some larger tuna caught soon as the sea is very stired up which seems to be the time for better results.
A few guys have braved the cold and fished the breakwater which is still producing the odd big whiting plus the odd shark. There has been some big runs and loses lately which generally lets you know that the sharks are around.
The north shore area has also fired up on the shark fishing with quite a few school sharks and seven gillers.
We should also start seeing some bigschools of salmon getting around also .

For any further information on the weather or fishing reports you can call us at Compleat angler on 0355211844, or drop in and say g'day to the team. We are open all weekend from 8am till 6pm. Remember to check your fishing licences as there is a increase as of the 1st of July.

Have a great day everyone and Happy Fishing.

Cheers Nigel
