Report 20/11/15

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Nov 20, 2015 10:54 am

Enjoy the weather, but be careful of the big swells and seas.

Hot spot this week, plenty of Flathead out on the sand off Tathra and Merimbula.

Beaches and headlands are still producing Salmon and Drummer this week. Frozen worms, Blue bait & pilchards, local frozen bait is great bait for beach fishing and available at Tackleworld.

GAME FISHING: Nothing to report

TURA BEACH: Northern end producing some Salmon and a few Tailor mixed in there as well.

MAIN BEACH: Tailor and Salmon with whiting, look for the gutters, try using Red Devil Worms.

BEGA RIVER: Good size Flathead near the bridge at Mogareeka. Estuary perch in the upper reaches, with a few Bream. Soft plastics, prawns & worms

BROGO DAM: Great catches of good size Bass on cicada imitations.

PAMBULA RIVER/LAKE: Has been a bit quiet due to heavy rain, still a few flathead around 48cm on vibes and plastics.

MERIMBULA LAKE: Bream on vibes and bait, Trevally, and some Flathead also Whiting on the flats with surface lures, lots of Trevally on small plastics and metal jigs. Plenty Tailor on diving hardbody lures.

Try using the Fuze range of soft plastics and especially on the Flathead, Strata Black Heart for Tailor. For the whiting, Sugapens and Fish Candy lures are also working well. Maybe fish the run in tide to combat the fresh water.

MERIMBULA WHARF: A few larger Salmon being caught on Strada Divers and also some squid on Yamashita 2.5g jigs, Kingfish have been in and out, so be ready for them, with some big poppers and stickbaits lures.

TATHRA WHARF: Salmon, Tailor and Squid still being reported.

REEFS: Snapper on Keitech plastics and micro jigs – plenty of Morwong, plenty of good Flathead, Nannagai and Gummies out on the sand.

LOCAL HEADLANDS: Check conditions before fishing, Salmon and some big Kingfish still good catches of squid too.
