Report 31/3/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Apr 01, 2016 9:11 am

For those out chasing the big stuff this week reports were a little grim. Warmer water is pushing through again so we should be hearing of some good catches in coming days.

NORTH TURA BEACH: still producing some good size Salmon, Tailor still putting up a chase with the Metals and Pilchards. Whiting and Mullet enjoying the frozen worms.

MAIN BEACH: has the whiting and Bream in the gutters with Frozen worms and Pippies getting the best results.

BEGA RIVER: producing good numbers of Flat Head down from Blackfellows lake. Still finding the odd Jewie near the bridge. Bream on the surface in the shallows. Bass & Perch in the upper reaches. Suggested lure is the Bent Minnow

MERIMBULA WHARF: Good numbers of Salmon Squid Tailor and Black fish Arma lures still producing the results. Kingies from 8-15kg landed this week also

BROGO DAM: have the Bass early mornings and later in the arvo

PAMBULA RIVER/LAKE: Flathead on plastics and vibes, try using squidgy poddy or flashprawn fish for the Flathead. Tailor still in plentiful numbers Try using Strada or strike Pro shallow divers.

MERIMBULA LAKE: has good catches of Trevally, Bream and Flathead. Flounder have started to make a show also. Mitchies Jetty have some large numbers of Trevally although finding them hard to to take the bait.

TATHRA WHARF: Salmon still around although Bonito and Frigate Mackerel were a no show this week the Arma metals a leading the way with the Salmon.

REEFS: Not alot different than last week Snapper on bait and micro jigs. Morwong and good Flathead out on the sand. Long Point and the Hunter Reefs worth a shot, with the odd Gummy coming in
