Report 12/1/17

Post by Nicole Penfold » Fri Jan 13, 2017 2:57 pm

MERIMBULA WHARF: A little slower this week due to windy conditions early in the week. Those who braved mother nature were paid in kind with good numbers of Luderick and Squid being caught. We are still anticipating a show of King Fish as they have showed up a little further up the coast. Have your gear ready.

GAME FISHING : Marlin are turning up in various locations with consistent catches being reported from Bermi to Eden.
Still have Snapper and Morwong about the inshore reefs! Good Sand Flathead occur in patches off the Tura Beach Golf. The beaches are picking up with reported catches of both Salmon and Tailor.
If Flake is on the menu try throwing some bigger baits for gummies or Bronzies

BEGA RIVER: Our boys headed down the Bega river again this week and got onto the Flat Head. (Refer to our Photos on Face book) Jackson Epic Prawn still a great choice with the Bream. Other catches of Flatties near the bridge (on the large Bloodworm wrigglers ) along with the occasional Jewfish

TATHRA WHARF Not a lot of change since last week’s report. Producing, good squid on jigs, with the best results during dark. . There have been Salmon and Kingfish sightings from the Wharf and more reported Kingfish hook up from Tathra.

In the ESTUARIES: Flathead as mentioned earlier have been caught in almost all the Estuary systems in large numbers Merimbula lake proved most popular in the shallow water for these crocs and again large soft plastics up to 140mm are definitely the way to go. Trevally still about in the lower part of the Merimbula Lake from the bridge down. .Again the Jackson Panic Prawn have been smashing the Bream and Whiting on the surface.
Happy Fishing!
