CAUTION: The ocean access at Bastion Point is closed due to massive amounts of sand washed in there during the big seas.

On the beaches there have still been some good salmon around on the incoming tide once the water becomes clean. The fish have been hitting metal lures and blue baits fished in the gutters.

A few salmon and tailor have been taken in the mouth on the incoming tide once the water becomes clean. These fish have been a bit patchy but by spinning metals off the beach or trolling through the channel producing the fish if they do enter. Defiantly worth a look if you're in the area and the tide is right.

In the main channel around the wharf there have been some good bream and trevally taken on the incoming tide. The fish have mainly been taking fresh prawns fished in the deeper holes at the slipway and the Cow Paddock fishing platforms.

Out in the lake most of the bream have congregated in the deeper water in 3-7m. Both lakes have been producing some nice sized black and yellowfin bream after a bit of sounding around in The Narrows, Goodwin Sands and out in the middle of Dead Finish. These fish have been responding alright to small vibes including EcoGear VX35s rigged with either stinger or decoy trebles to pin the finicky shut down fish.

A few bream and some flatties have also been taken rolling deep diving hard bodies like OSP Dunks and Deep diving Jackal Chubbies in the 6-10ft mark off steeper banks.

Bait fishers have been doing really well in most parts of the lake as the fish have mainly been looking for easy meals in the dirty water. Both the top and bottom lakes have been producing fish with The Narrows, Palmers Bank and Bakers Bight all firing. Plenty of fish have also been taken by pulling up on snaggy or rocky shorelines and casting baits back out over the drop offs.
