Western Port
Justin Blythe fished last night around Point Leo. Using fresh Trevally on a running sinker rig with an 8/0 Octopus circle hook, resulted in this great looking Gummy Shark on the end of it. Justin reports that braving the cold conditions that we have had over the recent few days was worth it to catch this fish landbased.

The long awaited new cleaning tables at Warneet have been built and are now ready to use! These awesome new facilities have been made possible through the hard work and dedication of the members of the Warneet Fishing Club and Fisheries Victoria.

Port Phillip Bay
Mark Whitford caught this cracking 52cm Australian Salmon, fishing a Zman MinnowZ in Sexy Mullet off of Mornington Pier. Mark mentioned that it was a stack of fun using light tackle to chase these hard fighting fish.

JJ Manahan fished in some pretty rough conditions down off Corio Bay earlier this week, but he was rewarded for his efforts with this nice 5kg Snapper, caught using Chicken breast. Something completely different that I'm sure the snapper don't come across too often in the sea!

Goulburn River
Ben Saunders got out over the Trout opening weekend and got stuck into fishing! He landed over 30 Brown and Brook trout on the sunday morning, with the best pushing the tape out to 55cm. Slim profile plastics and the always popular Rapala CD7 in Spotted Dog accounted for the lions share of the fish.

Lake Eildon
Terry Ramadge fished the Pondage recently and pulled this healthy Brown out. Terry reports that the fish pulled "like a freight train" despite the cold conditions experienced over the week.

Dan Eadon was also fishing the pondage at Eildon for trout. Dan chose to throw a gold spinner around and quickly caught this HONKING trout.

Port Fairy
Scott Gray has been down casting small plastics around the fish rich waters of the south coast, targeting Bream. He's had a lot of luck too, with some good specimens hitting the shore. Scott has been using the Rapala Maxwell 702L which has the perfect taper for twitching and working soft plastics.

Salty Dog Fishing Charters have reported that the Gummy and Pinkie action has started to heat up. Pictured here are some very happy clients with recent captures on board.

VFA Fish Kids Program
The Victorian Fisheries Authority has launched the Vic Fish Kids Program. Designed to get kids into fishing this program is part of the Target One Million project, a plan to grow recreational fishing to over one million anglers in Victoria by the year 2020. The first of 6 FREE kids events was held at Lake Eildon Pondage over the weekend and 200 kids had a ball learning to fish from the one and only Rex Hunt. If you'd like to find out more about this program and where the following 5 events are scheduled to be held click here
