Weekly Report 18 Mar 12

Loads of rain, high seas and strong winds have really made fishing tough over the past couple of weeks. Mud crabs are the best target for those that don't mind getting wet and tossed about a little. It will be another week of estuary fishing and trying to find a sheltered area will be the most difficult. Reports of bream and tarwhine around Bulcock beach and still some quality whiting south of Bell's Creek. Blood worms and yabbies are still the better baits to be using. If you are going to chance flathead the fresh will mean that they will be in the deeper holes close to the dropoffs. With so much fresh in the water you will need to use your sounder to find the pockets. Fishing around the deeper channels like the Blue Hole and the Bar area may be the best option until the water clears. Keep an eye on rubbish in the water so that you don't smash a prop or put a hole in the boat. Have Fun!
