Weekly Report 1 Jul 12

Post by Brad » Sun Jul 01, 2012 3:27 pm

A beautiful weekend weather wise allowed plenty of fisherman the chance to get out and catch a few. We nailed some big fish this weekend including snapper, monster pearl perch, kingfish, cod, fusiliers, snapper and many other species. THere was little doubt that the fish were on the chew so I hope you managed some as well. Out wide on the Barwon Banks the fish put on an exceptional display but the sharks were around ready to pounce on the better sized fish being brought up to the boat. Wide Caloundra had pelnty of pearl perch and a huge number of dolphins working bait into small balls. Schools of big tuna were busting into the bait balls making it a sensational sight. Iodine bream were around Murphy's along with quality snapper and moses perch. The Gneerings had plenty of boats around it's boundries but to date no reports on how it all went there. Bray's rock featured with some nice snapper over the weekend as well.

The estuaries by comparison were quiet to offshore but for those that got onto the beaches to get into tailor they were rewarded with fish around 2-3kg's in the holes around the changing tide late afternoon. Bream and dart are also available to anglers along the Wurtulla strip up to Double Island point. A few mulloway were taken around the Boardwalk area in the late afternoon and they are still being taken on live herring around Pelican Waters bridge on the tide changes. This week seems like it will blow out again but it will change and you will get your chance so hang on.and have fun!
