Weekly Report 16 Apr 13

Great weather around at the moment and a strong run up to a full moon should make the fishing absolutely rock. Plenty of big trevally working bait schools around the Pumistone Passage yesterday along with chopper tailor. The strip from the Lifeguard hut down to the Boardwalk was full of jumping baitfish and large tails splashing to win position. Good numbers of bream right around the passage including areas like the Boardwalk, Coastguard pontoon, Gemini Pontoon and Military Jetty. Fish the end run out of the ebb tide and the last of the run in for best results. Tarwhine are also taking baits along with the odd flathead around the channel close tothe Blue Hole. Whiting are slow but once you find a patch you will get a feed. As normal there are a lot of smaller fish around but the big ones are not far behind.

Offshore action on the reefs with plenty of pearl perch and snapper at the moment. Corresponding morning or evening tides are the best to fish and drifiting over reefs is one of the best methods to sure up a qulaity esky. Still good hussar out wider and the last chance on the remaining pelagics that will slowly start to disappear by the end of this month in any sort of numbers. There are bait schools around Currimundi Reef and Brays Rock yesterday and they were being smashing at the bottom of the tide. Both of these areas are worth a run to for reef species at the moment. Great news to see flat seas and no wind so get out and enjoy it while it lasts. Have Fun!
