Report 10/7/15

Post by subeditor » Fri Jul 10, 2015 11:17 am

REEF FISHING
What a cracker of a weekend weather wise we just had! Unfortunately this weekend is not looking great at this stage. Those who did get out and judging by the boat ramps and the reports we have had I don’t think many boats were parked in the yard. Snapper, Tusk Fish, Jew, Red Throat, Coronation Trout and Pearl Perch were all reported as part of the catch for those that got out to the Banks. The inner reefs also fish well with good numbers of fish going into the esky.

BEACH
Noosa North Shore has had a few reports of Tailor but very little activity along the Kawana stretch, but what has been good is the Bream with some good catches recorded on the more northern end of Kawana, with a late afternoon dusk session being the better time.

RIVERS
Reports of a few Tailor in the rivers, nothing of real size but a lot of fun on light gear if they don’t bite you off. Bream have been the main catches in all the systems along with a few winter Jack. Nothing big but still a heap of fun. Flathead are also being caught, and for this time of the year the size and numbers aren’t bad.

IMPOUNDMENTS
Have had no reports from the Dams but there were some reasonable sized fish caught on jigs down deep at Borumba Dam not that long ago. We're all hanging out for Summer so we can chase a few.

GAME FISHING
Sunshine Coast Game Club member Barry Higgins fished the Cape with son Brent to tag and release a nice Blue Marlin on Sunday, the first for the season and hopefully many more to come.

To be in the running for our Fish of the Month $50 voucher for senior and junior, get your photos in or bring your catch to the shop for us to weigh and photograph.

If you have any tips, tricks or fishing reports to share (not saying exactly where your hot spot is!) please e-mail me or come into the store and we will put them in the newsletter.
