Report 16/10/15

Post by subeditor » Fri Oct 16, 2015 2:28 pm

Hi there anglers,
It looks like we have a fair weekend in front of us with the morning fishing the better choice as the wind is consistently at a lower point.

We have had a great variety of success offshore over the last few weeks. The water temperatures have risen to above 22 degrees and the summer fish are making their way in. The inside reefs are working well with Caloundra 9 mile picking up a few big Squire and the odd nobby. There are more reports of Cobia, billfish and sailfish coming on as this water temperatures rise. While Old Woman has been worked well on soft plastics and the bay area has been picking up some nice flathead drifting.

All the river systems are seeing the rapid increase of whiting and flathead. The recent rain will only aid in more catches of these species. There are some more mangrove jacks caught in the upper reaches of the Maroochy and Mooloolah Rivers. Minyama seems to be a great spot for some variety while the Mooloolah River mouth on Dawn is fishing well and on any of the high tides. The Beach fishing has been improving after the SE breeze over the last 2 weeks. The gutters are deeper, wider and are holding more whiting, flathead and the dart are moving in to keep many entertained.

We now have a Youtube Channel so jump on and check some of the informative video’s we are
posting up. We would also consider adding any home video’s, of great action be it river, ocean or
beach. Please keep it PG. ... RaWdTsQmnw
