Report 5/2/16

February 3
Even though there is a bit of rain around there are a lot of people heading off shore this afternoon and tonight as the wind and swell are well within managable levels with the latest obs from the BOM indicating 10kt North-easterlies at Morton Island at 4pm this afternoon whitch looks set to hold right through until the early hours tomorrow morning before picking up from the south-east , The rivers have been fishing well with a few really nice Flathead and lots of bream around,
along the beaches the dart and whiting have been on the chew and as we move closer to the new moon on tuesday it looks like the fishing is going to be awesome.

February 4
The first half of today was perfect for the off shore angler and with quality fish being caught both in close with reports of Mackerel and tuna being caught at the Inner Gneerings and out wide the Black Marlin to 80kg and school Wahoo over a metre out from the Caloundra 12 mile. I'm excited to get out in the tinny over the next couple of days a soak a crab pot as with all the fresh running into the system at the moment the Mudcrabs don't have anywhere to go but down stream with the salt as it is pushed out.

Morning report:
With the flush-out the rivers have had over the last few days i'm excited to see how the esturine eco-system reacts with the new moon this Tuesday and all the rain we have had to stimulate the system we should be in for some red-hot fishing in the lower reaches of our local river systems.
Afternoon report:
I think there is still going to be some great opportunities for fishing in our waterways if you can work around the wind and the rain, The crabs are sure to be firing after all the rain we have had and the fishing will be best on the top of the tide when the salt pushes back up into the rivers.

A turbulent area just at the end of kawana beach where the rocks start nicknamed "The Washing-Machine". It's been a great spot to fish while the Northerlies have been blowing.
